Lots to celebrate in October for Tang lab!

Huge congratulations to Rachel on winning an excellent teacher award from the University's Medical Science Division Teaching Excellence Awards scheme!

A warm welcome to Charlotte who joins the lab to undertake a research project as part of her undergraduate degree. Farewell and good luck to Tony who left the lab this month.

August was a time to be social! This month marked the group's first face-to-face meetings and catch ups since March 2020. It was an opportunity to say Welcome to our incoming DPhil students, Hello to friends and collaborators, and Farewell and Good luck to Rafael, who has left the lab to start the next step in his career.

We are really proud of our lab members! More great achievements this month.

Rafael, Rachel and lab members working on the type VI secretion system have published their work in eLife. Great news! You can read their paper via the eLife website.

June has been a month to say congratulations to many members of the lab!

Congratulations to Wearn-Xin on being awarded a Merton 2021/22 graduate prize scholar award. You can read more about Wearn-Xin's research project and the prize scholar awards on the Merton College website.

Stars on the BBC! Chris and Giulia were part of the BBC Four Extra Life series. In the episode Medical Drugs they described the remarkable work of the Dunn School penicillin team.

Welcome to Emma who joins us for the next few months to undertake a rotation project as part of her Dphil.

Tang lab are taking on other Dunn School groups this month as part of the GSA Dunn School Tournament. Quizzes, Codenames, logo design and charades.. Tang lab are in it to win it!

Welcome to Tony who joins Tang lab as a post-doc and AKTA expert!

The first Tang lab outreach event since the pandemic began.. Chris and Rachel enjoyed spending a morning talking to Year 3 children at Outwood Primary School in Stockport about what life as a scientist is like.
